課程概述 |
This course will introduce some of the main topics on Network Theory, which includes: the principles of representing and measuring networks, random-graph models of networks, strategic network formation, stability, efficiency, diffusion and learning, networked markets. |
|
課程目標 |
This course is for students who are interested in network theory and wish to carry out independent research. It provides an overview and synthesis of models for studying social and economic networks. Students are expected to study research papers to understand the theory behind the network formation, equilibrium structure, and implications of social and economic networks. Statistical and experimental analyses of networks may be also discussed. The goals of this course are to learn the following:
1. how to make oral presentations and journal paper discussions,
2. how to study papers, and
3. how to analyze and critique research. |

課程要求 |
During the semester, every student will give a 50-minute presentation of one chosen paper. At the end of this term, students have to submit a term paper with original views. |
